The end of the world is coming. The interspecies war has begun, and Enya is trapped in the middle of the humans and fairies, as well as trapped under Viktor's command. It seems impossible for her, her friends, and family to escape and survive. The fate of both races is in her hands, and now she must pass judgment over the world. Will Enya make the right choice in fulfilling the prophecies? Or is this the end for everyone?

Enya's Judgment is the third and final book in the Enya Trilogy. War is looming for all involved in this tale, but with Enya's faith spreading to all of her peers and family, their chances are looking better. Enya's Judgment is action packed! With the beginning of war, the use of more supernatural powers, the implementation of power boosters for flight, and the power glove for protection, this is a fast-paced story that readers won't be able to put down. Kristalyn Vetovich hits it out of the park again with this amazing ending to the trilogy.

Official Apex Reviews Interview: KristaLyn Vetovich (The Enya Trilogy)

Apex Reviews: KristaLyn, thanks so much for joining us for this interview. We're looking forward to learning more about your books.

KristaLyn Vetovich: Thank you for reading my books. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed them.

AR: Aiden and Enya have a definite connection from the beginning. Is the prophecy true? Also, will the two of them have many adventures together in future books in the series?

KV: The connection between Aiden and Enya is the basis of the entire trilogy. The prophecies unfold as the stories progress, with a new prophecy being added in each book. They begin to make more and more sense as the tale goes on, if not always how we first expect them to. The Enya series closes for now with the third book, but, should I write more in the future, Aiden and Enya would definitively remain the central characters, along with some of the other supporting characters, like Flit and Olan.

AR: Religion is prominent in all of the books. What made you want to introduce this element into the tales?

KV: Religion is a prominent aspect of my life, and, even though I did not initially intend to implement it in the Enya Trilogy, it becomes an important factor in separating Enya from the others. It is her religion that holds Enya together after the death of her family, but it alienates her from her Zirian peers as well. Also, her religion is what allows her to trust in the potential of people like Aiden and therefore is probably the most important part of saving her own life, as it is her alliance with Aiden and Derek that saves her in many situations, such as the encounter with Councilman Gregory in the climax of the first book.

AR: The boosters for flight and the power glove are really fun additions. What were your inspirations for these pieces of equipment?

KV: The inspiration for many qualities of the Enya series came without me even realizing it. There were characters that I didn't know I had created until a page after their introduction. The story came so easily that elements such as those just poured out onto the page. The Stun Glove and Boosters were products of necessity. I needed a way to get Jayce and Jamison to Russia quicker in order to keep the story moving smoothly, so I created the Booster that ended up making appearances later in the books as well. The Stun Glove was another idea that seemed to come out of nowhere. I remember thinking that it would be good for the fairies to have more gadgets in the war, and with the confrontation with Viktor and the Stun Glove just seemed like a really cool idea. It came in handy later when Aiden couldn't use it and had to decide whether or not to use a gun, as Enya is so against doing. It made their bond just a little bit stronger.

AR: Lonnit is a great addition to the series. Will he be seen more in the future installments of the series?

KV: If I decide to continue the series in the future, Lonnit will definitely be there. I am aware that the story ended with Lonnit's character having only just been defined, and I think that's a good thing. Lonnit has a sort of innocence about him that many other characters don't because he is only just finding his potential as an agent and redefining the impression that others have of him from when he was controlled by Viktor. Lonnit's true character is most definitely not the timid and sly pixie that we met in the second book.

AR: When it comes to the evil human Viktor, Rani the dragon, and Lonnit's super melting powers, do you perform much research when adding these elements to the story?

KV: There was more research involved with writing the stories than I expected. Viktor, Rani, and Lonnit didn't require as much research as did the different locations I sent the characters to. When I knew I had to get Enya exactly half a world away from Viktor, I had to actually research what part of the world was directly opposite of Russia. At first I landed in an ocean, but upon further research I found the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. The fact that Kagamil was in the perfect spot and has twin volcanoes was just too enticing to pass up. Kunkowa, Poland involved research into my own history as that's where my family immigrated from, and the Bulgaria locations came from my own personal experiences on a mountain there.

AR: Did you always know that Enya was going to survive, or did the story just unfold that way once you got to the end?

KV: When I first wrote that she had to die, I knew I couldn't kill her because she was the main character, and I'm not too fond of sad endings. I do admit, however, that there was a time when I actually considered letting her choose to stay with her family, but the comments of some of my friends who read the first and second books led me to bring her back. People wanted closure between her and Aiden, and I can't say I didn't want the same. In the end, I was really glad she came back, too. When I wrote the scene of her death, I actually almost teared up a bit because the image was so vivid in my mind and a really sad song was playing at the same time. I also knew I couldn't take away Flit's best friend.

AR: Enya is a fun, light, and smart character. Is she based on you at all?

KV: Enya is a character I admire in some ways. She is based on the type of person I would like to be, and I guess she has some of my personality traits as well. She's innocent enough to have faith in people and God, but strong enough to endure pain such as the loss of family, betrayal, and her enslavement to Viktor. She never loses hope and always knows she can achieve anything. I think Enya is a well rounded and amazing person in her own way, and she has a gift for teaching others what it means to believe.

AR: It's obvious from the stories that someone young or young at heart wrote the part of Enya. Do you feel that you identify with her character the most?

KV: I do feel I identify with Enya the best because I like to believe that even younger people can do anything they set their mind to. Enya unites two races and saves the world, but more importantly she saves her friends, and I think that's what means the most to her in the end. She is a great character, even though Flit is actually my favorite.

AR: What can your readers next look forward to from you?

KV: I am actually working on three other stories currently. One about Stonehenge and time travel, one about Atlantis and intense battles between good and evil, and the one I'm working on most is called The Resistance. It's about parallel universes and the importance of family in a person's life. That should be coming out later this year or early next year.

AR: Do you have a website where people can learn more about you and your writings?

KV: My dad was actually thoughtful enough to create a website for me that tells about most of the things I do, from theatre to singing to writing: www.kristalyn.biz. Everything you want to know about me and what I'm up to is there.

AR: Also, how can our readers contact you directly?

KV: If anyone wanted to get in touch with me, I would be more than happy to hear from them. My personal e-mail is klav22@hotmail.com.

AR: Any final thoughts you'd like to share?

KV: I just really want people to know that anything is attainable, and dreams, no matter what they are, will always be in reach as long as people believe in themselves and accept that they are not alone and don't have to be. I think we're all here for a purpose, and we can change the world if we want to. All we have to do is be open to opportunity and seize it when it comes. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to fulfill a dream of mine.

AR: Thanks again, KristaLyn, and best of continued success to you in all your endeavors!
